Traditional folk songs, finger plays and multi-cultural music in differing tonalities and rhythmic meters provide a "balanced musical diet" to grow on. You'll rediscover traditional folk songs and recapture the fond memories these tunes evoke as you participate in sharing the music of many cultures with your child. Weekly classes for infants, toddlers and preschoolers and their parent/caregivers in an informal, non-competitive environment will nurture your child's natural love of music. Children were born to sing and they love to create sounds! From an infant cooing and gurgling to a toddler tapping on a pot with a spoon, music is evident in creative expression from the earliest ages. All children have innate musical ability however, research has shown that this potential disappears if it is not encouraged as early as possible - so early, in fact, that expectant mothers should begin "cultivating" music and song in their children even before they are born. You'll play an important role, too. That's because our entire curriculum focuses on the importance of parents and caregivers in each child's development. So, go ahead, kick off your shoes and sing a silly song or try your hand at a wacky new move. At the same time, you'll meet other parents with children of similar ages.
